Recently, I was coaching one of my ADHD clients and I gave her an analogy about a car.. If a car has plenty of gas in its tank...it can go far, if it's on empty.....it will eventually break down. I used this analogy because as humans, we often forget to fill up our own gas tanks!
Regardless if you have ADHD or not, we must take care of ourselves. I know this is not easy, as a mother, a wife, a sister , a daughter, a small business owner, a volunteer, and all the other roles I play in my life, I get how hard it is to remember to take care of you.
I have also learned the hard way that if I don't take care of myself then the consequences directly affect how well I do anything in my life.
