Find Your Friction
A short planning self-assessment from Nikki Kinzer, PCC
If you've ever set up a new planner with real hope and watched the whole thing fall apart by Wednesday, you already know that pattern. What's harder to see is where it actually breaks.
Planning systems tend to fail at one specific point, and for most of us it's the same point every time. This assessment helps you find yours.
You'll rate twelve everyday planning moments across three kinds of friction:
Process friction. How you track tasks and time, and whether your tools are working together or sitting on separate islands.
Decision friction. Everything on the list feeling equally urgent, until your brain freezes and picks nothing.
Emotional friction. The shame and avoidance that build up after enough systems haven't stuck, until the planner itself feels unsafe to open.
Then you'll score each one, see which runs highest for you, and sit with a few reflection questions written for that specific type. Not a diagnosis. A starting place.
It takes about ten minutes. There's no new system to learn and nothing to start over.
If you joined me for Stop Starting Over: A New Way to Reset Your Planning, this is the worksheet that goes with it!
