Get Ready For The Holidays: Decluttering Tips!
Now, is the time to apply the “one in, one out” rule!
Anytime of the year is a good time to declutter! However, getting your home in some kind of order prior to Christmas, can do wonders for your stress level!
The great thing is doesn’t have to be dreadful, you can actually get a lot done in a short period of time and feel the impact immediately!
Decluttering Exercise
Mission: To go through each of your rooms in your home and declutter.
What you need: Bags or boxes for donated items, trash bag for trash, and a timer.
Schedule: Between now and New Years, schedule your organizing sessions into your calendar. (This is what I call intentional planning)
Action Steps:
Choose one room
Bring your supplies and set the timer for 30 minutes
In 30 minutes, find as many things as you can to donate or if needed throw away
Repeat this process as many times as you want with each room of your house
Take all donated items out of your house as soon as you can
There will be some rooms, you may want to spend more than 30 minutes and there may be some, where you don’t even need 30 minutes. The point is that every room is touched at least once.
Few extra tips to keep in mind:
Get your family involved - you will get more done.
Work when you feel your best - you will be more productive.
If you’re not sure about something - keep it for now.
Play music and have fun - the more engaging the task is, the better.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you for your time and attention.
