Break It Down

Creating a plan can be...overwhelming.

Sometimes that overwhelm has to do with what you’re planning.

It can seem difficult to plan your week if the tasks you intend to put on your calendar are actually bigger projects with multiple steps.

These projects are often the reason it’s hard to get started.

Don’t give up!

Take some time during your planning sessions to break down projects into simple steps.

For example, let’s look at something simple like laundry. You may want to put “laundry” on the schedule, but what does that actually mean?

Take the time to break down your laundry project into smaller steps that can easily be planned into your day.

  • Gather dirty laundry from around the house

  • Separate laundry into like categories

  • Start a load in the washer

  • Move finished load to dryer

  • Unload dryer

  • Fold

  • Put away

Look at all the different, smaller steps that go into something as simple as laundry!

Breaking down the steps of a project can allow you to more easily fit in each step as you plan your day.

Smaller steps can make it a lot easier to start a project. As we know, starting can often be the hardest part.

Breaking down the steps can make it a lot less scary to get started on any project.

Thank you for your time and attention,

-Nikki
