How Do I Know if My ADHD Coaching is Working?

ADHD coaching can be great when you’re looking for extra help navigating your ADHD.

But, how do you know if the coaching is working for you?

To be honest, there isn’t a black-and-white answer to this question.

While an ADHD coach will be able to offer tips and strategies to help you learn how to best manage your ADHD, you will have to be able to gauge whether or not you are seeing a difference.

Ask yourself…

Consider what you’ve experienced after conversations with your coach:

  • Have there been “lightbulb” moments for you?

  • Do you walk away with hope and inspiration?

  • Do you feel understood and heard?

These are questions you will have to be able to answer for yourself.

Finding Acceptance

Another piece of the puzzle I try to help my clients put together is acceptance.

It’s important that my clients can walk away from our time understanding that ADHD is not something to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. Yes, it’s part of you, but it shouldn’t define you.

Learning to accept your ADHD not only helps you understand yourself better, but it gives you the tools you need to advocate for yourself.

Coaching is a Journey

One thing I strive to express to my clients is that ADHD isn’t something that goes away. This is something you will continue to encounter every day.

You will have good days, and you’ll have bad days.

My hope is that my clients walk away from coaching feeling confident that when the bad days surface, they’ll get through them—they can persevere!

Look for Support

Whether it’s through an ADHD coach or a community of ADHDers, there is always support available.

When you need help, one of the most courageous things you can do is ask for it.
