Take the Steps to Focus

Being able to achieve and maintain focus can be difficult.

However, there are simple steps you can take today to increase your focus and get more work done.

On a recent episode of Taking Control: The ADHD Podcast, Pete and I interviewed Will Henshall. Will Henshall is the creator and CEO of the app Focus@Will.

After we finished recording the episode, Mr. Henshall shared with us 3 tips to help with focus that I wanted to share with you.

  1. Make sure the room where you’re working isn’t too bright or too dim.

Having a room or computer screen that is too bright or too dim can strain your eyes and make it difficult to focus.

  2. Make sure your ankles are at 90 degrees to your feet and make sure your feet are firmly planted on the floor while you’re working.

Proper posture helps maintain proper blood flow throughout your body—including your brain.

  3. Before you begin a focus session to get work done- make sure you get everything ready to do the work.

If you start your work but aren’t set up yet to do the work, you may find yourself easily distracted before the work even begins and focusing on the wrong thing.

The rest of the conversation with Will Henshall was full of great information about how your brain works to get you to focus. I would encourage you to check out the episode and Focus@Will.

Thank you for your time and attention,

-Nikki
