How To Save Your Morning Routine

Are you constantly running 10 minutes late every morning?

This isn’t enough for severe consequences but it’s enough to be annoying to you and everyone around you!

Plus, beginning your day in a rush, is NOT a great way to start your day, it sets a negative tone.

This post isn’t about how to design a new morning routine, I talk about that in Episode 351: Building New Routines on Taking Control: The ADHD Podcast.

This post is about getting the 10 minutes back and get out of the door on time!

It begins with your clutter!

It’s true, one reason you may be running behind is because you can’t find what you need, when you need it. This is the core principle in living a somewhat organized life!

To get those 10 minutes back, try these two strategies..

Identify what you lose the most in the mornings!

Where do these items usually live when they are found? Make adjustments, clean up the counters, the tables, the back of chairs, anywhere things are hiding. Taking just a few minutes to clean up the clutter in those most used space makes a BIG difference!

Create a Landing Zone!

Everything you identified that you need in the morning should all live in one spot, if you don’t already have a spot, then now is the time to make one. This includes; briefcases, backpacks, shoes, computers, chargers, etc.

It’s these kind of strategies that help take back your time and they don’t take long to try!

So, I challenge you, take the time to clear your clutter and create a landing zone and take back your lost 10 minutes!

Thank you for your time and attention.

Take Care,

Nikki
