What Lifts You Up?
During these uncertain, turbulent times it can be difficult to find reasons to be joyful.
For people with ADHD, it can be even harder if you are struggling with focus and getting things done.
Most often ADHDers have an easier time focusing on the negative side of life rather than finding the silver lining. However, this practice may be doing you a disservice.
According to author of The Happiness Advantage, Shawn Anchor, staying in a positive headspace can lead to better productivity, and increased drive and creativity. In fact, remaining positive can account for 31% more productivity!
I realize it can be difficult to find your joy when things seem to be falling apart, so here are a few things you can do to help you get started.
Laughter
They say that laughter is the best medicine. Search out some funny memes, watch a stand-up performance on YouTube, or watch an episode of your favorite sitcom.
Friends
Reach out to a friend that you know always makes you smile.
Meditate
Practicing mindful meditation can help relax your mind and give you a fresh perspective on your situation and brighten your outlook.
Gratitude journal
Make a habit of writing down what you’re thankful for. This practice forces you to look through the gloom to find the silver linings in your life.
Choose today to be the day you make a positive change!
Thanks for your time and attention,
